Our Founder

A Journey Shaped by Responsibility and Learning

As the eldest of four siblings, she grew up in a family where responsibility came early. She didn’t just complete her own tasks—she made sure every detail for her brothers and sisters was taken care of as well. From childhood, she was already both a teacher and a mother figure.

What makes her unique is her perspective: “Every job is a chance to learn”. This love of learning has never stopped, and even today she always puts herself in the position of a student—curious, open, and ready to grow.

Her vision for Bali Earth School comes from this lifelong journey: to create a place where children grow with the same spirit—responsible, curious, and joyfully committed to learning.

Professional Organizational Development Career
(20+ Years):

• Senior leadership roles at global companies including Toyota, Temasek, and Grab.
• Experienced in startup building, corporate leadership, and strategic growth.
• Judge and recipient of Indonesia HR Awards for her work in people development and leadership.

Education and Certifications:

• 2 Master degrees from UK and 1 PHD offer from Netherlands.
• 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) with Radiantly Alive, Bali.
• 100hr Woman Rewilding YTTC with Bex Tyrer (Yoga Barn, Bali)
• Certified in Joly Phonics Teacher (Trained directly by the founder of Joly Phonics).
• Certified in Fabx Storytelling.
• Certified in Teacher training with High Tech High (HTH) in San Diego, California for Project-Based Learning Design.
• Performance in The Moth Storytelling Chicago, USA.

The founder Ibu Tere is extremely passionate about bridging the gap between the total nature school and the traditional academic school with her own holistic approach. She spent lots of time researching and implementing the suitable curriculum for the school and we have seen improvement in our son’s learning journey. We also love the excursion every Friday where children learn through adventure and culture. The school often has collaboration with different organisations to expose the children to community building as well as gaining perspectives on the world. There are many international schools in Bali and many in Ubud. But among them, Bali Earth School is special. Many school in Ubud are located in some locations that are not easy to access. But Bali Earth School is close to main street while being in a natural environment. So it’s easy to access. In addition to a trip every Friday, they offer various local activities during the week. So children were able to have many experiences. I sent my children there for about 4 weeks and it was a very natural environment, truly different from Korea. In the care of teachers who are kind and love children. They had a really fun time and made special memories.
